Read and Reflect

  1. A DSLR camera with manual setting- In order to be able to have a long exposure.
  2. A dark room- So we have the right atmosphere and the ability to capture the effects.
  3. A Tripod- So the camera doesn’t move during he exposure.
  4. A subject- So there is something to take a picture of.
  5. A strobe or Flash Gun- So you can use the flash, to flash the subject, and since the atmosphere is dark the only thing that will pop up on the picture will be the subject when the light was flashed.
  6. Light Monkey- For the flash, not necessary, but helps so you don’t have to focus on to many things at first.
  7. Light Meter or Knowledge of exposure- So you know how long to expose the camera to to the flash ad subject.
  8. Knowledge of Aperture- So you know how to set it in manual mode, and limit the exposure of other lights in the room.
  9. Black Backdrop- This would help, because a colored backdrop will overpower the motion in the picture.
  10. The ability to keep trying- If you don’t get the picture you want, you keep trrying and sooner or later getting the results you want.
